Enjoy quiet moments, explore waterfalls, go night hiking, taste local organic food, try pottery and bamboo-making, join family food gatherings, and visit the community.
We offer packages for individuals and groups, with space for over 20 guests (tents). The site is ideal for retreats and team-building, with solar power and an open kitchen.
Nature-Based Experiences
We offer guided walks, hikes, and camping in the eastern arc forests. Our guides share deep local knowledge, providing unique cultural and ecological insights.
Matunge Residency
Matunge Residency is a special program for artists and cultural practitioners, named after Matunge, a chief and herbalist. We welcome tourists, artists, and researchers looking to engage with the Uluguru Mountains and Waluguru culture. Since 2018, MAZI has hosted 17 residencies that blend art, storytelling, and environmental education. Our residencies support authentic work that reflects the region's unique culture and environment, not generic tourism.
